Having just seen Paul MacCartney’s ‘Up and Coming’ tour at Cardiff, words fail me for now and so pictures will have to do.
First of all a collage of a collage. While the stage crew got things set up in Millennium Stadium, a moving collage of 60s memorabilia filled the video screens.
Then the stadium roof closed on a perfect sky
And the show was under way.
I found this quote in the souvenir programme, courtesy of the Daily Telegraph reviewer.
“Whatever elixir the 67-yeart-0ld Macca is running on remains a mystery, but he seems to get a huge charge from performing to an audience, especially one that is bombarding him with waves of adoration.”
Adoration, admiration and delight that verged on disbelief. By the third encore some of the audience were flagging (or had left for the last train home!) Not so our star who enjoyed it more and more as the night went on.
Awesome!
P.S. these pictures are mine. Please ask if you would like to use them elswewhere.
We enjoyed it too – your pics are way better than mine – what camera were you using?
Thought the venue was good but food provision was pretty rubbish there and no choice.

Hi Teresa
Glad you enjoyed it. My camera is nothing special – Canon Ixus 60, bought a few years ago now. I think the picture quality on the screens was outstanding – also the sound quality, although I haven’t been to many big venues so wouldn’t really know. Where were you sitting?
