Just four days on holiday and look what happened! First of all Ether books published my short story Mouse Years on their i-phone app. – that was just before I left.
Not having an i-phone myself (lol) I haven’t seen how this looks but look forward to sneaking a peak as soon as I can get my hands on one. In the meantime I’m now part of the Ether Facebook community where I hope to be meeting some of my fellow authors soon.
Next cause for celebration is the Stylish Blogger Award (who me?) kindly donated by Rosalind Adam, fellow writer now mounting an urgent campaign to improve NHS care. Do keep track of her efforts and support her if you care about treatment of elderly patients. After great cogitiation rumination etc. I have decided to pass on the award (roll of drums) to:
- Anna Smith (aka Eryth) up in Gloucestershire at the Circle of Words for her thoughtful reflections and
- Stepanie Marland for the sheer exuberance of her blog at RomancingforThrills ( think pink!)
Apparently my ‘oscar’ acceptance speech should include three things you don’t already know about me. After some years of blogging it feels like they might be hard to find, and since I recently wrote about something that happened a long time ago, I’m hoping that will count as number one. Two more?
Well, for starters, I’m now a volunteer with our local Citizen’s Advice Bureau. I’m into the second tranche of training which is taking up lots of time right now, and so if blog posts are less frequent, you’ll know why. But I do find it interesting and rewarding – even if those benefit calculations strain my non-mathematical brain.
Next up is my daughter Ellie who works in Graphic Design and took three cameras on our trip to Paris. Here’s one of her efforts. Please don’t steal it but contact me if you like her work. It’s more stylish than anything I could manage.

Congratulations on having your story published by Ether. I have downloaded it to my iPod Touch and am looking forward to reading it.
It seems we also have a mutual friend in the lovely Rosalind!
Pleasure to meet you,
Rebecca
