Help fund a new creative magazine

Some time last winter, I began writing e-book reviews for What the Dickens Magazine run by Victoria Bantock. I was really impressed by the presentation of this online writing magazine (not to mention the tempting  mail-order gifts ) and despite the deadlines : (  have enjoyed doing the reviews. But even the most beautiful magazine is still not so easy to read all through on the screen, so I’ve occasionally bought the Kindle edition to browse at leisure.

But now WTD is going into print! – or at least trying to, using the new social media approach of crowd-funding. This was all new to me, but basically it’s a call for funds  to get the next (December) issue into print. Sounds like a plan, and  I’ve already helped with the video (see widget on right!) and signed up as a funder just so I can get that lovely issue in my hands.
In the words of our lovely editor:

The main aim of the magazine is to inspire, encourage and promote creativity and the arts. But I have many dreams and once the magazine is up and running I plan to keep ploughing the funds it makes back into it and strive to create more opportunities. I see books, anthologies, competitions, awards and prizes for short stories, poetry, flash fiction, screen writing and playwriting. I see a huge space for all manner of creative activities, for people to find space to work, generate ideas, hold classes, workshops, talks, put on shows and plays, draw, paint, exhibit or just sit and have a chat. I want to use what I’ve learnt in this crazy adventure to help others live their creative dreams, share advice and resources and fund other projects into existence.

There’s also a Facebook event on Nov 18th, which is the deadline for fundraising.
