In our family we have two birthdays in January and there also seems to be a kind of overspill of social occasions from the Christmas period, so much so that I often find Februry a more depressing month. But there’s no time for that his year, with real and virtual life providing plenty to do.
First of all, this week I’m with local saga writer Jo Lambert having virtual tea and cake in Bath (such a nice idea I’m not sure why we’re not doing it for real!)
And on Feb 15th I’m very pleased to be part of Claire King’s launch of The Night Rainbow, her debut novel with Bloomsbury. This is a book I’ve known about for quite a while and as you can see from this trailer it’s getting more intriguing all the time.
Then there’s my real-live appearance this week at the library – eek! In view of the season I think this will be more of a boots than high-heels occasion, but straight after I’ll be dusting down my posh frocks and dancing shoes for a weekend away with our ballroom dancing class.

Finally I’ve been meaning for ages to write up the experience of working with a graphic designer (that’s Ellie Bacon, by the way) on my book cover.
And maybe in between times some fiction will also get written.
A busy week indeed. Good luck for Thursday, am sure you’ll be good. And enjoy your ballroom weekend. Wish I could get my other half to do ballroom dancing. I used to love it.
