Just a quick note to tell any Bristol/Bath/SouthGlos readers about my next appearance in the real live world, this time in Filton Community Centre on March 7th. The IMEX (Inspiration Motivation Echange) evening is to celebrate International Women’s Day and promises wine cheese and pampering as well as a number of people coming along to tell their stories – as in life stories that is. I’m part of the ‘Open Mic’ session which starts at 7pm and am likely to be on around 8.
Some of you will know that my first reaction when I was invited to this was to say they must have got the wrong person (!) as I often have trouble getting inspired, never mind providing inspiration. But after the organiser assured me I was the one they were looking for, (hence that feeling of shock summed up by the Ugly Duckling – me, a swan?), it seemed like time to get my light out from under the bushell and get on with it. I guess (hope!) it’s not about celebrities, just people who have been on a journey and are happy to share how they got to there they are and what it feels like. I’d love if any of you can come along to keep me company – only girls allowed, by the way. Entry free as far as I know, and no one need perspire – except for me!
For those of you craving something more poetic, I can also recommend this event in the Bath Lit Fest on March 1st where poets are responding to the work of artists.
